Palocko is a four-year letter winner in cross country and three-year letter winner in track and field and is currently competing in his fourth season of track at MHS. As a freshman in 2008, Palocko was the team's rookie of the year before going on to earn All-Northeast Ohio Conference and Academic All-Ohio honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. He is also a two-time Medina Post/Gazette All-Star team and three-time state qualifier. It is accomplished in two steps. Step One: Set up a school fund where people can make tax deductible contributions to the school system of their choice and/or create a continual fund raising program (i.e. running a BINGO program). Step two: Take any remaining shortfall in the budget, divide it evenly by the number of students and send a tuition bill to the parents of those students and/or reduce staff accordingly to fit the budget. That's what private schools do. Why should public schools be exempt from this? ]]> http://thepostnewspapers.com/medina/letter-Lee-M--amp-amp--EM-5-12 5/3/2012 First-graders beautify Blake On April 24, the first-graders at Blake Elementary helped with a school beautification project in the center courtyard of the school headed by Jan Sullivan, who is one of the first-grade teachers. Eight yards of mulch and five yards of topsoil were graciously donated by Smith Bros. of Medina. ]]> http://thepostnewspapers.com/medina/blake-beautification-M-5-12--submit- 5/2/2012 Publisher's notebook The Obama administration last week issued a proposed rule governing hydraulic fracturing for oil and gas on public land that will - for the first time - require disclosure of the chemicals used. This will make President Obama's environmental friends happy and it sounds good to me as well. ]]> http://thepostnewspapers.com/medina/publishers-notebook-5-12 5/9/2012
